What do you do in the middle of a pandemic? At 40 something and having lost my job and attempting to "Home School", please note I use that term loosely! I started to write, first poetry and then children's books.
I am sure I'm not alone when I say we had days when we didn't get dressed and my 5 year old son was squirting jelly in to his mouth with a calpol dispenser..... No? Just me then!!!!!
I used my new passion to drive us forward and motivate myself. To make beautifully engaging, magical and rhyming books for children. I have read my fair share over the years to know what style I liked, so that is what I did. Wrote books that I like to read and my children like listening too.
One of my personal favourites from our collection is, "Some Dogs Do" by
Jez Alborough. Its just a cute story which tells a really nice story about a dog and the battles he stumbles across when others are mean. It flows and reads well and I have modelled my style around a similar concept.
I hope you like my books, I plan to grow them as I have the writing bug now!
The picture of this beach was at Milford on Sea and was pretty symbolic in my journey. It was just after the first lockdown had eased and when I started to write my second book, Millie and the Magic Milk which has just gone onto pre sale.
